LEAD 401 - Mindfulness, Leadership and Organizations

Prerequisites, LEAD 302 or LEAD 310, Leadership Studies Minor, LEAD Themed Inquiry, or the consent of the instructor or program director. This course will delve into the theory and practice of mindfulness, the context surrounding mindfulness, leadership and organizations, the neuroscience of mindfulness, and contemporary applications of mindfulness in organizations. Topics include: Reasons to meditate, Methods of mindfulness, contemplative practices, mindfulness at work, mindfulness and the self, mindfulness and creativity, mindfulness and the inner work of leadership. Letter grade. (Offered every semester.) 3 credits
