CHEM 338 - Symmetry in Chemistry

Prerequisite, CHEM 230. This course offers a systematic exploration of the chemical applications of group theory. Students will learn to analyze the electronic structures and physical properties-such as electrical, vibrational, and magnetic characteristics-of chemical compounds through spectroscopic techniques and crystallographic methods. Letter grade. With consent, this course may be repeated for credit. (Offered fall semester, alternate years.) 3 credits
