CHEM 325 - Atmospheric Chemistry

Prerequisite, CHEM 230. This course will cover the important atmospheric chemistry of both the troposphere and stratosphere. Students will be introduced to the atmosphere, its structure, physical properties and the principles that govern its chemistry before moving on to look at more detailed chemistry, both heterogeneous and homogeneous, of the troposphere and stratosphere. The relationships between atmospheric chemistry and physical climate will be examined. Letter grade. (Offered fall semester, alternate years.) 3 credits
