CHEM 301 - Inorganic Chemistry, Lecture and Laboratory


Prerequisite, CHEM 230  or consent of instructor. This upper-level undergraduate course in inorganic chemistry provides a comprehensive overview of fundamental concepts and principles across the periodic table. Topics include modern theories of chemical bonding, reactivity, structure, and properties of inorganic compounds. A key focus will be on transition metal complexes and their applications in designing functional materials such as pigments, semiconductors, batteries, catalysts, and nanomaterials. Letter grade. With consent, this course may be repeated for credit. (Offered spring semester.) 4 credits
