MUS 342 - Alexander Technique Coaching

Prerequisites, MUS 112, or consent of instructor, and music major. Private instruction in the Alexander Technique with focus on exploring the principles of this Technique in musical performance. Material covered will provide procedures to: diminish unnecessary tension while singing or playing an instrument; diminish the burden of performance anxiety; develop poise; enhance understanding of the coordination involved in breathing. P/NP. May be repeated for credit. Fee: $240. per credit. (Offered every semester.) 1-2 credits
