The B.S. in Applied Human Physiology (AHP) is a curriculum that will fulfill the admissions requirements for medical, dental, and pharmacy schools, as well as various graduate programs. In addition, students can choose one of two areas of study. The Applied Clinical Human Physiology area of study offers courses in molecular biology and the pathogenesis of various diseases, whereas the Applied Exercise Science area of study offers courses to help in the prevention of sports injuries as well as various diseases through the use of diet, exercise, and an understanding of human behavior.

Students must take the list of required courses identified below. In addition, the student will select a 24 credit area of study in order to complete the degree. The areas of study include: Applied Clinical Physiology (that will fulfill the admissions requirements for Medical, Pharmacy, and Dentistry schools as well as Food Science) or Applied Exercise Science (that will fulfill the admissions requirements for various graduate programs such as: Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Biomechanics, and others).

Students pursuing the B.S. in Applied Human Physiology are required to:

Earn an overall GPA of 2.000 for all required major courses.
Complete all courses in the major for a letter grade, except for HSCI 101 .
Complete a minimum of 21 credits from upper division courses in the major.
Complete the capstone requirement AHP 491 or AHP 498 (for a total of 3 credits).
