Coursework in the accounting major gives students broad training in the field of business, supplemented by intensive preparation in the field of accounting. Graduates of the program will find professional opportunities in public accounting (CPAs), in industry, in government and in not-for-profit organizations.
Program Learning Outcomes and Educational Effectiveness Evaluation Plans for B.S. in Accounting.
Students pursuing the B.S. in Accounting are required to:
- Attain at least a 2.700 grade point average in MATH 109 , ECON 200 , ECON 201 and ACTG 210 before enrolling in upper-division courses.
- Maintain at least a 2.000 grade point average in the major.
- Receive at least a “C-” in all lower-division core requirements, upper-division core requirements, upper-division accounting core requirements and BUS 475 .
- Complete all courses in the major for a letter grade.
- Complete a minimum of 30 credit hours of the requirements at Chapman University.
- Complete 42 credits from upper division courses in the major.
- Complete the capstone requirement BUS 475 .
