The Minor in Asian Studies provides students with a background in the history, religions, social and cultural values and arts of Asia. Students pursuing the Minor in Asian Studies may take courses in a broad range of subject areas, including history, art, communications, business, political science, film, literature, religion, Chinese and Japanese. This interdisciplinary study of Asia provides students with an array of methodological approaches to facilitate comparative analysis and intercultural understanding and communication.

The minor requires a total of 21 credits, of which at least 12 credits must be upper-division. At least 12 credits may not be duplicated with coursework taken towards the student’s major and other minor(s). An international experience in Asia (study travel, international internship) is strongly encouraged and a culminating senior project is required of all students to complete the minor.

For additional information regarding the Minor in Asian Studies please contact Dr. Alexander Bay in the Department of History.
