History, B.A.

History majors are encouraged to study abroad, but in order to fulfill the major requirements, history majors are advised to complete semester study abroad programs before the spring of their junior year. To take advantage of potential research opportunities students are encouraged to discuss their study abroad plans, including any related language study with their faculty advisors in their first year. History majors are especially encouraged to take history department sponsored travel courses.

Program Learning Outcomes and Educational Effectiveness Evaluation Plans for B.A. in History.

Students pursuing the B.A. in History are required to:

  • Maintain at least a 2.000 grade point average in the major.
  • Complete all courses in the major for a letter grade.
  • Complete 21 credits from upper-division courses in the major.
  • Complete the Senior Thesis I and II requirements HIST 496 , HIST 498 , or HIST 596*, 598*
