HON 353 - The Algorithmic Self: How AI Shapes Our Choices


Must be an Honors student to take class unless given permission from the professor and Honors Director. This course explores how artificial intelligence shapes human behavior, decision-making, and trust while examining the trade-offs between convenience and control. Through an interdisciplinary approach blending AI ethics, cognitive science, social inquiry, artistic exploration, and policy analysis, students will investigate topics such as algorithmic bias, AI-driven misinformation, attention economics and the psychological effects of personalization, and the ethical implications of AI-driven decision-making. Letter grade. (Offered as needed.) 3 credits
