CES 300 - Valuing Differences in American Society


CES/IES majors and CES/IES minors are unable to take this course.  Through a combination of presentations, exercises, discussions, films, and guest speakers, students will examine the causes and consequences of prejudice and discrimination and the role of economic and political factors in the formation, reproduction, and change of the American racial and ethnic structure. The course also examines the intersection of social class, gender, race and ethnicity, and sexual orientation.  Letter grade. (Offered as needed.) 3 credits
