BUS 219 - Business and Professional Communication


Prerequisite, Accounting and Business Administration majors only. This course is designed to strengthen students’ skills as a strategic thinker, writer, and speaker and to employ those skills to realize an actionable understanding of strategic communication. The course is structured to emphasize experiential learning so that the study of managerial communication theory can be applied to exercises and activities mirroring real-world challenges the student will face in their professional lives. At the end of this course, students will be more articulate and influential business communicators and will understand the rhetorical reasoning that supports the strategies learned such that all types of new communication challenges can be successfully met. Letter grade. No (Offered every semester.) 3 credits
