TH 473 - Advanced Dramaturgy

Prerequisite, TH 373, or equivalent, or consent of instructor. This course further explores the multifaceted role of dramaturg and applications of dramaturgical skills in contemporary theatre production research, new play development, in alternate live performance genres, film, television, and new media. This course includes readings, discussions, and experiential assignments that will advance the understanding of various kinds of dramaturgical skills and tasks required to contribute to a range of storytelling mediums. Letter grade. (Offered spring semester, alternate years.) 3 credits
