SCI 320 - STEM in Action: the Integration of STEM Education and Service-Learning

Prerequisites, consent of instructor and Crean or Fowler or Schmid major or minor. Students work with a local organization, Higher Ground Youth and Family Services, to mentor public school students in the development of STEM research projects. This course will help students develop a research project in the topics of STEM, generate and apply culturally relevant pedagogy, and use educational discourse to be effective mentors. [DEI] Pass/No Pass. (Offered every semester.) 3 credits
