SW 417A - Writing Audio Fiction

Prerequisites, SW 128 and SW 287 and writing for film and television major, senior standing. This course provides students with a working knowledge of writing for audio and its various applications in production and distribution platforms. Where other screenwriting courses emphasize “show don’t tell,” this course employs “show through tell,” by scripting narratives with no visual component. Through exercises that focus on sound and dialogue, students create audio-fiction scripts that are ready to be cast, recorded, and produced. Letter grade. Fee: $75. (Offered every semester.) 3 credits
