ENV 420 - Environmental Hydrology

Prerequisites, ENV 101, and ENV 120, ENV 111 & ENV 111L, or ENV 112. Overview of the hydrosphere, with a focus on the movement of water through the environment and restoration of natural hydrological processes. Topics include surface water processes, basics of hydrogeology, quantitative assessment of hydrological processes, and applications of these concepts to real world systems. Laboratory component emphasizes field- and computer-based tools for analyzing hydrological processes. Weekend field trip required. Lecture & Laboratory. Letter grade. (Offered fall semester, alternate years.) 4 credits
