BCHM 436 - Molecular Genetics, Lecture and Laboratory


Prerequisites, BCHM 208 , BCHM 335 . Learn cutting edge molecular biology techniques to study the benefits of combined treatments to inhibit pancreatic cancer cell growth. Building on molecular biology and biochemistry concepts, students learn how to use bioinformatic tools to analyze RNA and identify genes of interest.  Through hands-on experience with molecular lab techniques and comprehensive literature review, students will undertake an original research project, combining theory and practice to produce novel insights in cancer biology. Letter grade. With consent, this course may be repeated for credit. (Offered spring semester.) 4 credits
