LEAD 101 - Introduction to Leadership: Principles and Practices


Prerequisite, first-year students and sophomores, or permission of instructor. This introductory leadership course will provide emerging student leaders with an understanding of effective leadership practices, and it creates a foundation for personal and professional success.  Leadership is not about knowing - it is about doing.  Through highly interactive class and learning activities, students will gain a foundation for practicing leadership and advancing their organizations and communities. Through readings, discussion, self-assessments and experiential exercises, students develop their leadership practice. Students will be expected to connect course content to their own lives, and to become engaged on campus and beyond, where they can apply what they learn. Letter grade. (Offered every semester.) 3 credits
