HON 347 - Listening to Time: Area Studies in Ethnomusicology

Prerequisite, acceptance to the University Honors Program, or consent of instructor. This course examines various musical traditions from non-western cultures. Topics are approached with an emphasis on the sociohistorical climate at the time of each tradition’s inception and throughout the path of its evolution. Letter grade. (Offered as needed.) 3 credits
