TH 379 - Text Analysis and Scene Study for Performance

Prerequisites, TH 111, TH 112, TH 218, theatre performance major, or screen acting major, junior standing. This course is an exploration of text analysis (the study of the language within the script) “and scene study (the study of the structure of the script) for performance. The course will enable the students to create a personal approach to play analysis that fosters unique performances that serve the theatrical demands of the playwright and the production. Sections may be designated by degree tracks. Letter grade. (Offered fall semester.) 3 credits
