MUS 342 - Alexander Technique Coaching (Half-hour lesson)

Prerequisites, MUS 112, or consent of instructor. Private instruction in the Alexander Technique with focus on exploring the principles of this technique in musical performance. Material covered will provide procedures to: diminish unnecessary tension while singing or playing an instrument; diminish the burden of performance anxiety; develop poise; enhance understanding of the coordination involved in breathing. Each private instruction music lesson course carries a different load credit, for which each credit is a half-hour weekly lesson per semester (1 credit is ½ hour lesson; 2 credits is an hour lesson). Pass/No Pass. This course may be repeated for credit. Fee: $240. per credit. (Offered every semester.) 1 credit
