SCI 620 - Foundational Topics in Philosophy


The course is intended as an introduction to the methodology and basic disciplinary contents of the discipline for graduate students without a specific background in philosophy. It will be especially devoted to the link between philosophy and mathematics and physics, addressing both the history of these disciplines and their place in contemporary discussion. Students will work on original texts from major philosophers and on more recent scholarly papers and books. Letter grade with Pass/No Pass option. With consent, this course may be repeated for credit. (Offered as needed.) 3 credits
