ART 384A - Concepts in Contemporary Art: Intersection of Art and Science


Advanced studio art course with emphasis given to a single contemporary topic, approach or theme. Students may work in any medium as they engage with rotating topics such as interdisciplinary, curatorial, collaboration and installation practices. Themes are designed to familiarize students with topics that have relevance to contemporary art and culture. Students will explore the ways visual systems of representation in art can intersect with contemporary science by interacting with designers and engineers working on the current projects at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Fee: $100. (Offered as needed.) 3 credits
