Music Business, Minor

The Music Business Minor is designed to give students an understanding of how the music industry works, including the areas of marketing and sales, publication, copyright and licensing, artist management, audio technology and music production, and music supervision. Students will learn how to communicate and interact with people in various aspects of the music industry. Program includes frequent lectures and workshops with national and global music industry professionals, with particular focus on the Los Angeles area.

Students earning a B.M. degree or a B.A. in Music are eligible to declare this minor.

Admission process: Contact conservatory chair for an interview to determine if it is possible to complete the minor in time to graduate. If it is, you will be placed on the pre-minor list and you will be eligible to submit the form to declare your minor.

A minimum of 15 credits must be completed from upper-division courses.
