The Minor in Secondary Education is designed for majors in content subject areas, such as mathematics, science, English or other language and history/social science, which are typically taught in secondary (grades 6-12) schools.

Students with an integrated educational studies major (or double major) may not choose the Minor in Secondary Education.

Students pursuing the Minor in Secondary Education are required to:

Take all courses in the minor for a letter grade.
Complete all courses with a “C-” or higher.
Ensure that 9 credits are upper division and that at least 6 credits of the upper-division credits are completed in residency. (Note that graduation requirements require 42 upper division credits to be earned overall.)
Complete 12 unique credits in the minor that are not duplicated in any other major or minor program in which the student is enrolled.
