The Minor in Secondary Education is designed for majors in content subject areas, such as mathematics, science, English or other language and history/social science, which are typically taught in secondary (grades 6-12) schools.
Students with an integrated educational studies major (or double major) may not choose the Minor in Secondary Education.
Students pursuing the Minor in Secondary Education are required to:
- Take all courses in the minor for a letter grade.
- Complete all courses with a “C-” or higher.
- Ensure that 9 credits are upper division and that at least 6 credits of the upper-division credits are completed in residency. (Note that graduation requirements require 42 upper division credits to be earned overall.)
- Complete 12 unique credits in the minor that are not duplicated in any other major or minor program in which the student is enrolled.
