This program guarantees excellent Applied Human Physiology students a seat in Chapman University’s Master of Science in Food Science. Early, guaranteed admission is a three-step process.
Step one: academic performance
- Declare the food science track through the Office of the University Registrar by the end of sophomore year.
- Students seeking early, guaranteed admission must complete the following courses and adhere to the criteria associated with the courses:
- BCHM 335 , BIOL 204 , BIOL 317 , HSCI 210 , HSCI 365 , HSCI 366 , CHEM 140 , CHEM 150 , CHEM 230 , FSN 200 , PSY 203 (or MATH 203 ).
- Must be taken at Chapman University.
- Must be taken for a letter grade.
- Must have an accumulated GPA > 3.000 for the courses listed in item “a” (above).
Step two: early admission declaration and plan
Before October 1 of the junior year, the student seeking guaranteed early admission must schedule an interview with program director Dr. Anuradha Prakash (prakash@chapman.edu) to review requirements and establish a plan to obtain early, guaranteed admission.
Step three: requirements to convert from conditional to a fully admitted student:
Complete B.S. in Applied Human Physiology with a cumulative GPA ≥ 3.000. The degree may be completed during any term of the senior year and must be verified by the Office of the University Registrar.
