ENV 497 - Senior Capstone I


Prerequisites, ENV 101 , ENV 102 , ENV 201 , ENV 303 , ENV 310 . Responsible community research requires long-term engagement and an iterative progression of research goals among all parties. In this course, students will develop relationships with the community partner for their Senior Capstone experience to understand the research questions and outcomes that are most impactful for the community. They will learn techniques from foundational literature by indigenous and grassroots scholars to build responsible and ethical co-produced research plans to lead into Senior Capstone 2, where data collection and analyses will commence. Students will learn a decolonizing, post-capitalist, and anti-patriarchal approach to community-based action research. Letter grade. (Offered fall semester.) 3 credits
