PCST 215 - The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict in History and Film

(Same as POSC 215, HIST 215.) This course surveys the Israeli Palestinian conflict from the 1880s to the present day. The first part establishes a timeline of developments. The second part contrasts Israeli narratives to Palestinian narratives, and presents scholarly challenges to both. The third part examines cultural representations of the conflict, unpacking how films and songs have represented - or distorted - this history. Letter grade with Pass/No Pass option. (Offered every year.) 3 credits
