BUS 637 - Financial Markets and Institutions

Prerequisite, BUS 607, or EMBA 607. Analysis of financial markets, instruments trading in capital and money markets, and the management of financial institutions. The course develops a framework for discussing the structure of major financial intermediaries and non-intermediaries, portfolio composition, impact of government regulation, and interrelation of financial institutions and markets. Topics include analysis of the demand and supply of loanable funds, the instruments and organization of money and capital markets, financial flows and the impact of public policy, and term and risk structure of interest rates.
