BRJL 305 - News, Media and Non-Fiction Storytelling in the Digital Age


Prerequisite, BRJL 103 . As new technology has changed the media landscape forever – we must become sophisticated users and consumers of new media in the 24/7 news and information world. We must learn how we create, distribute and receive non-fiction content – ranging from breaking news to high quality journalism and documentary storytelling. In this course, we will examine best practices for producing and repurposing non-fiction material for multiple platforms. We’ll also consider legal and ethical issues in new media. Fee: $75.
