Business Analytics, M.S.

The Argyros College of Business and Economics offers a Master of Science in Business Analytics tailored to prepare students for a career in Data Science and Business Analytics. This program requires 30 credits of graduate coursework (seven required courses and three electives) and is targeted toward students with undergraduate degrees in quantitative fields such as business, economics, or computer science. Exceptional candidates that have little quantitative skills may be considered but will be  expected to have demonstrated competence in statistics and calculus before the program starts.

Admission deadlines

The M.S. in Business Analytics program begins each fall semester. Prospective students must submit their application early for full consideration and scholarship priority. Priority will be given to those applicants who apply before February 1.

Admission to the program

Admission to the M.S. in Business Analytics is competitive and will be based on undergraduate academic performance (GPA), scores on the GMAT, leadership potential, and communication skills. The completion of the following may achieve admission to the program:
1. Submit an application for admission.
2. Complete a baccalaureate degree from an accredited university with an undergraduate major in a quantitative or business-related field.
3. Achieve an undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
4. Achieve an acceptable score on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Exam (GRE). The GMAT or GRE may be waived for applicants who earned a bachelor’s degree with a 3.2 GPA or higher from a domestic
university.
5. Achieve a minimum score of 87 on the TOEFL or other equivalent language test for international students.
6. Submit the contact information of one recommender who is familiar with the applicant’s academic or professional abilities.
7. Complete an interview with the graduate admission staff.

Transfer of credit

Courses from other universities will not be accepted for transfer into this program.

Requirements for the Master of Science in Business Analytics Degree

Students pursuing the Master of Science in Business Analytics Degree are held to the University’s Academic Policies and Procedures. In addition, these specific degree standards apply:

• All courses must be taken for a letter grade.
• A minimum grade of C+ or above is required in all coursework.
• Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 to maintain good academic standing.
• Complete the seven required courses and three electives.
