The B.S. in Health Sciences curriculum combines basic science, behavioral science, and health science courses designed to equip all students with a multidisciplinary understanding of the human body, various medical professions, and patient-centered healthcare.

The degree is designed to fulfill common prerequisites for admission into healthcare graduate programs and prepare students for productive careers as healthcare professionals.

Program Learning Outcomes for B.S. in Health Sciences.

major requirements

Students must take the list of required courses identified below. In addition, the student will select a 38-credit area of study to complete the degree. The areas of study include Allied Healthcare and Applied Human Physiology. An additional area of study, Public Health, will be available in 2025-2026.

Students pursuing the B.S. in Health Sciences are required to:

  • Earn an overall GPA of 2.000 for all required major courses.
  • Complete all courses in the major for a letter grade, except for HSCI 101  and HSCI 105 .
  • Complete a minimum of 21 credits from upper-division courses in the major.
  • Complete the capstone requirement HSCI 498.
