Accelerated Bachelor’s degree/Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction, with Joint Preliminary Multiple or Single Subject and Education Specialist Mild/Moderate Support Needs Credential

The Accelerated Bachelor’s degree/Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction, with Joint Preliminary Multiple or Single Subject and Education Specialist Mild/Moderate Support Needs Credential (MACI) program enables selected Chapman undergraduate students to earn a bachelor’s degree, California multiple or single subject (i.e., elementary or secondary) teaching credential, mild/moderate special education credential and a master’s degree within five years of full-time study. Students must apply to the program no later than the second semester of their sophomore year in order to complete all requirements within the five-year timeline. Admission to the Program

Admission to the program is competitive and requires:

1. Minimum of 30 credits earned at Chapman University at the bachelor level prior to application to the program (sophomore standing).
2. Major in Integrated Educational Studies (IES) in the Attallah College of Educational Studies or one of the core content areas (science, history, mathematics, English) taught in secondary schools in Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences or Schmid College of Science and Technology and a minor in Secondary Education in the Attallah College of Educational Studies.
3. Minimum Chapman grade point average of 3.00.
4. Satisfactory completion (grade of B or better) in IES 102  and IES 206 .
5. Passing score on the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) or equivalent.
