Mathematics and Civil Engineering, Joint Degree Program, Chapman University/University of California, Irvine Suggested 5-year Plan


This is a sample academic plan only and is not meant to replace regular academic advising. This plan is flexible, and can be changed to accommodate Study Abroad, a second major and/or minor, or AP/IB credits. Completion of a minor or second major fulfills the GE I/M Cluster. Students should work with an academic advisor to develop a plan that meets their specific needs.

Minimum of 120 credits required to graduate, 42 must be upper division.

*MATH 115 MATH 116  is an accelerated two-semester calculus sequence that is an alternative to the MATH 110 MATH 111 MATH 210  sequence. The MATH 115 MATH 116  sequence is recommended for Mathematics majors but they can substitute the MATH 110 MATH 111 MATH 210  sequence if they choose.

**Mathematics/Civil Engineering majors are required to take a Grand Challenges in Science section of the FFC 100  Freshman Foundations course, as well as SCI 150 SCI 200  and SCI 250 .
