SW 671 - The Business of Writing for the Screen

Prerequisites, SW 647, graduate screenwriting major. An examination of the business of developing material for motion pictures and television. Topics include developing existing literary material; developing news stories/current events; and developing scripted features and series for theatrical release, broadcast, cable, and streaming. Other topics include the roles of producers, agents, and studio executives in working with writers during the development process. Letter grade. (Offered spring semester.) 3 credits
