EENG 511 - Control Systems and Applications

Students will learn to analyze closed-loop dynamic control systems through transfer function derivation. The course follows three learning paths. In Part 1, students develop applied mathematical skills in linear algebra, Laplace Transforms, and complex variables for analyzing and designing dynamic systems, including electronic circuits. Part 2 covers system design and simulation using MATLAB, focusing on the time and frequency response domains, root locus methods, stability criteria, and design sensitivity. In Part 3, students will undertake a closed-loop autonomous control project, utilizing an Arduino controller and simulation predictions. Letter grade. (Offered as needed.) 3 credits
