COM 789 - Advanced Quantitative Methods and Statistics II


Prerequisites, HCOM 595  and COM 785 . This doctoral course will cover advanced methodologies and statistical techniques. The course builds on the introductory foundations students have developed in Advanced Quantitative Methods I (COM 785 ). Topics will vary but will generally cover advanced statistical tests such as regression modeling (e.g., logistic regression, moderated mediation, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation modeling) and multilevel modeling approaches (e.g., mixed models, growth curve modeling). Advanced methodologies that may be covered include content analysis, scale development, and survey design. Students will be using SPSS and other computer-based data analysis software. Letter grade. This course may be repeated for credit. (Offered as needed.) 3 credits
