An introduction to the classic issues in the philosophy of science: the nature of scientific explanation, the confirmation of scientific theories, the nature of scientific laws, the distinction between science and pseudoscience, and the unity of science. Letter grade with Pass/No Pass option. (Offered every year.) 3 credits
