LAW 7519 - Civil Rights Law


This course will study the laws and constitutional provisions that protect civil rights, particularly the right to be free from discrimination on the basis of race, sex, national origin, age, disability, and other protected characteristics. The course will focus on legal strategies to bring lawsuits under or defend actions alleging unlawful discrimination. This course also will consider legal actions that seek redress for violations of other federal constitutional or statutory rights, as well as relevant policy issues. This course will satisfy the Practice-Oriented Writing Requirement. Letter grade. 3 credits
