PHRM 785 - Medication Safety - A Fundamental Responsibility of a Pharmacist

Prerequisites, PHRM 502, PHRM 512, PHRM 515, PHRM 523L, PHRM 535, PHRM 537, PHRM 632, PHRM 672. This course will cover the fundamental components and practical considerations to improve medication safety across the continuum of care and throughout the healthcare system. Students will be exposed to a broad range of medication safety topics including Just Culture, performance improvement methodologies and tools, the framework for human error, and a system approach to medication errors. Students will also gain an appreciation for error reporting and data analysis and optimization to develop error reduction strategies through a multi-disciplinary approach to improve patient safety.
