CS 510 - Scientific Computing


Prerequisites, CPSC 230 and CPSC 231, or instructor consent. This course introduces students to fundamental mathematics and algorithms of the basic computational methods required to succeed in advanced study in the computational and data sciences. In this course students will learn computer arithmetic, software development, and Python and R programming. It also introduces SQL for data querying and manipulation, alongside Tableau for visualization, empowering students to work with databases and convey findings effectively. Through practical exercises, students learn to extract insights from datasets using algorithms. Letter grade. (Offered fall semester.) 3 credits
