CES 304 - Culture, Society and Education in Ghana


This travel course engages students in experiential learning in local African communities with the intent of extending students’ cultural awareness, knowledge and skills. Students will examine the impact of colonialism on African civil society and educational institutions and will explore the shared historical, social, and political experiences between African descendants in the U.S. and in the continent. The course will also introduce students to the concepts and language of the African Diaspora. Letter grade. TBD (Offered as needed.) 3 credits
