POSC 382 - Political Concepts


Prerequisite, sophomore standing. Students in this course engage in an intense exploration of a significant political concept such as justice, toleration, liberalism, separation of church and state, and so on, with a view toward understanding how prominent conceptions have elaborated and developed the concept, and with a view toward understanding how political theory can help us understand contemporary issues. May be repeated for credit if the topic is different. Letter grade with Pass/No Pass option. Repeatable for credit if the topic is different. (Offered fall semester, alternate years.) 3 credits
