POSC 381 - Political Thinkers

Prerequisite, sophomore standing. Students in this course engage in an intense exploration of one or a few significant political thinkers with a view toward understanding the elaboration and development of key concepts of political philosophy, and with a view toward understanding how political philosophy can help us understand contemporary issues. Emphasis is placed on the reading of the author’s texts. May be repeated for credit if the topic is different. Letter grade with Pass/No Pass option. Repeatable for credit if the topic is different. (Offered fall semester, alternate years.) 3 credits
