PHYS 498 - Physics Capstone

Physics majors only, senior standing required. Students take an exit exam for the physics major and complete a capstone project either based on their research and creative activity or review of a contemporary topic in physics. The project is presented as a written essay, a poster, and an oral presentation. The topics covered in class include a review of problem solving in physics for the exit exam, how to read technical physics literature, scientific writing and speaking, and software for mathematical typesetting. Letter grade. (Offered spring semester.) 2 credits
