FTV 312 - The Art of Casting

Prerequisites, creative producing major, or film and television production major with directing area of study, junior or senior standing. A comprehensive, hands-on course that serves both as an introduction to the art and craft of casting and an opportunity for student directors and producers to workshop the casting of their thesis projects, with the support of a seasoned Casting Director. The program will demystify the casting process and teach upcoming directors how to work with their casting team to prepare a breakdown, source actors and plan, organize casting sessions, and ultimately how to hire an actor. Letter grade with Pass/No Pass option. This course may be repeated for credit. (Offered as needed.) 3 credits
