Prerequisites, ECON 200, ECON 201, with a minimum grade of C- in each prerequisite. Theories of economic growth, interaction of culture and development, and obstacles to development. Geography and its relation to development. Problems of capital formation and technological transfers. Public and private sources of investment. Policies and programs to accelerate growth in underdeveloped areas. Letter grade. (Offered every year.) 3 credits
