HIST 233 - Disability and American Life


This course will explore the social, political, and economic treatment of people with disabilities in America throughout its history and in contemporary society. The course will examine the changes that have occurred for people with disabilities from World War I to the present, including the rise of the disability rights movement in the 1970s, the effect the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the contributions of disabled writers, artists, and activists.
