COM 311 - Gender and Communication

In this survey course, students will be introduced to the complex ways in which communication and gender interact. Students will learn about key concepts, questions, and tensions in contemporary Gender Studies by examining gender in individual, local, national, and global contexts from a communication lens. Students will learn how to critically read, discuss, and write about cultural representations of gender. (Some sections of this course may be offered for School of Communication majors only).
