COM 295 - Introduction to Research Methods


Prerequisites, School of Communication major, COM 100 , or SCC 100  with a grade of B- or higher. Introduction to Research Methods focuses on the process of how researchers study the creation, exchange, and interpretation of messages. Students will gain experience understanding and evaluating existing research as well as designing their own research projects. The course will cover a range of quantitative and qualitative approaches to studying human communication, including survey, experimental, observation, interview, and content analysis designs. (Offered every semester.) 3 credits
